Aegis Enhanced Belt

The Aegis Enhanced belt (released 2013) is one of our newest designs; customers wanted a belt with the same performance as our Ranger belt, but a simpler "look". Like the Enhanced Ranger, the Aegis Enhanced is 1.5" wide, and is composed of 2 layers of the same proprietary scuba webbing, with an added layer of 1.5" thin colored webbing (8 color choices) on the outside. The Aegis buckle is beadblasted stainless steel (weighs 4oz), and production buckles will use 17-4PH stainless for improved corrosion resistance.

All components are made here in the USA (webbing, thread, and all parts of the buckle), and we sew them together in Columbus, Ohio.

Aegis belts don't require the same overlap as the Ranger belts, so we recommend you purchase based on overall length (S=41", M=43", L=45", XL=47", 2XL=49") instead of on belt size or pants size. Some people have stated a preference for a tail that ends immediately after their belt buckle, while others prefer a few inches of adjustability. Jake wears size 36 pants (38 when carrying IWB) and wears an XL Aegis Enhanced...but he COULD be wearing a M if he wanted to eliminate any tail.

To find your belt size, measure the distance from the hole that you most often use on your current belt to the farthest point on the buckle. That will give you the size of your belt then add however much tail you want on your Aegis Belt.

Ares Gear Aegis Enhanced belt is AWESOME! I use it for IDPA, daily CCW (Govt 1911 IWB) carry, and for work as a paramedic. It is lightweight, STIFF, and extremely comfortable. It supports any load I ask it to carry. The 1.5 inch width is as laterally stable as any 1.75 inch belt I have ever worn (Eagle, Rosen, 511, et al)─but with the convenience and aesthetics of a slimmer profile. The sizing guidance was very helpful- but please note: the total length stated does NOT include the length of the buckle (i.g. Large belt is 45 inches of webbing plus 2.25 inches of buckle [at attachment point] = 47.25 inches of total overall belt length). The buckle face is 2.5 inches in length but where the webbing is permanently attached to the buckle, it takes up .25 inch of measured overall length. I’m not a big fan of the buckle being 17-4PH stainless metal injection molding (MIM) as I would gladly pay more for billet stainless steel, machined the old fashioned way- or even titanium might be good. But the MIM buckle is adequate for the job at hand. It is easy to take on and off and the buckle does not work itself loose. This was my first purchase from LaRue Tactical…….Let me tell you, I am SO glad that I ordered from them. The customer service, product selection, prices, and fast shipping are second to none! I will always look FIRST to LaRue when I need to order any gear. I loved the company even more when my order arrived with a pocket copy of the U.S. Constitution. Well Done. Thank You.

This is a solid belt. The buckle takes a little getting used to, but when it matters it certainly does its job. This will hold up anything you need to carry. It is also a much more low profile design than the ranger belt. It works with a wider variety of clothing, and doesn't scream gun belt like its predecessor. One thing to watch for is the little elastic can get pulled off when you doff the belt. It is worth taking a little time to make a habit of tending the elastic through the first belt loop. They do send you an extra, but watch out anyway.

This is THE BEST carry concealed belt I have tried! I carry a firearm on a daily basis and most of the time a backup with it, this belt stands up to the task. You don't have to cinch this belt down (like you do with leather or cheaper nylon belts) to have your rig stay right where it is supposed to. I know the belt isn't cheap but you wouldn't put $100 tires on a Ferrari, this is the platform for your E.D.C. and if it doesn't perform neither will you. I would highly recommend!

They don't get better than this. I carry concealed as a job requirement and I've tried lots of holster and belt combos to keep the gun close to the body with outside the waistband carry for near 15 years. I wish I had known about this belt when I first started (if it's been around that long). It would have saved me money and headache like no other. Awesome product. Keep up the good work.

One stiff belt. Very stiff but very comfortable. I have been using a 1.75" instructors belt for several years. I thought I was happy and then it finally wore out. Glad it did. First of all, The 1.5" belt is a much better choice. Works better with all my clothes and is much easier to sit with. Secondly, for those of us with a little belly roll, this belt supports your gear so much better. Does not work its way down. It stays put. I have used this style of buckle on some old military surplus BDU belts and was kind of concerned it would slip. No worries there. Couldn't make it slip if you tried (unless you simply don't put the bar into location). Finally, the buckle sits very flush and the belt looks very good. Use with my work attire no problem. Will be buying another in brown for sure.

If you are considering an all around carry belt on and off range - this is solid gold and worth the price. LaRue is kind enough to throw in some goodies to go with your purchase too - thank you LaRue!

Really like this belt. It's stiff as a board and looks less tactical than my wilderness belt. Have been wearing it everyday for the past 3 weeks and am very happy with the fit and comfort that it provides while carrying. A note on sizing, I wear a 33-34 pant and ordered the Large belt, I would encourage you to order the medium as there is a lot of length left after the buckle. I considered returning it for the medium and instead cut it to a length using a Dremel tool and lighter to seal the ends. So far there haven't been any issues with the end unraveling it looks good.

Loving this belt so far. Adjustment is incredibly easy with the buckle design, and unlike cheap belts with the same type of mechanism, this buckle doesn't loosen throughout the day. Holds Sig P320C with full mag owb with ease. Was initially concerned with the size of the buckle, but in actuality it ends up being lower profile than my previous leather gun belt once buckled.

Really impressed with this belt. I had been debating picking it up for a while... On the surface it seems like it would be perfect based on product descriptions, which I thought seemed too good to be true. Stiff enough to adequately support an OWB holster, while also allowing unprecedented levels of adjustment to fine tune fit for a IWB holster as well based on the design of the buckle (not limited to specific belt holes) when compared to more traditional belts. I have always had trouble with traditional belts based on where the belt holes are when adding any type of CCW (IWB or IWB) equipment to the equation. Add to this varying thickness of clothing be it either pants or tucked in shirts or whatever, I just could never find a setup that can handle these variables to the point that I was truly comfortable in all scenarios. To hold the weapon most of the time the belt is just too tight for my liking. The rigger\instructor style belts handle the variables for the most part, but they suck for everyday use. This belt is a snap to put on, it supports gear as well as anything in existence, and if I gorge myself on Thanksgiving dinner or five Guys I have the ability to easily give myself a little room to breathe until I'm back to normal. For what it's worth, this design is perfect in my opinion. If you're wondering if the buckle does it's job wonder no more, it does so perfectly. About the only thing I can point out is that the enhanced version is very stiff, which should loosen up a bit. If you alternate as I do between OWB and IWB carry it's probably a good choice particularly if we're talking about full size pistols that are heavier. I have no experience with the standard model, but I imagine it would probably work just as well for me with a slight advantage for IWB carry given that a thinner belt should handle the contour of the holstered weapon slightly better. For IWB only, go with the standard model. As far as LaRue from a business\transaction standpoint I can't say enough really. Price is good, shipping was fairly priced, and they processed my order very quickly. I ordered on a Sunday and it was out of their hands and on the way to me the next day. Item was well packaged and they also sent a cool armadillo bottle opener, some Dillo Dust seasoning ( which I just used yesterday for some grilling I did ) that was quite good. They also sent some stickers that I will probably apply to my neighbors Volvo as the latest salvo in our healthy ongoing left\right wing banter. The additional swag is practical for me and appreciated. I will without hesitation buy from them again in the future.

Phenomenal belt. Very stiff, makes a noticeable difference in comfort and especially concealability (AIWB in kydex). Buckle is rock solid. I had some concerns about it coming loose, but it takes a deliberate action to undo. I expected this to be suitable for casual wear, but it actually will work well in business casual as well. One note, I used the Ares web page sizing and got a belt that was far larger that I needed. This was my first time purchasing from LaRue, and I will definitely do so again. Great customer service on the return for a smaller size, and plenty of swag.

Might be the best EDC belt ever: I've worn lots of tactical nylon EDC and BDU web belts, including those popular "Cobra"-type and "Rigger"-type nylon belts. In my opinion this beats them all. It's just heavy and stiff enough to hold your sidearm and gear and not sag but low-profile enough to hide under a t-shirt. (Kinda feels like a lightweight SCUBA weight belt in construction but a lot more comfortable). Most importantly, you can ADJUST IT TO YOUR LIKING WITHOUT TAKING IT OFF! This makes it the most practical every-day-carry belt on the market today. I'm a size 34-35 waist in pants size. I bought the large (which measures 45 inches from edge of the buckle to the end of the tip). It carries my full-size M&P40, spare magazine and a multi-tool with ease. The end of the belt then extends about 5 inches past the buckle with all that gear on but I like it that way so order yours accordingly. I originally ordered the coyote brown and liked it so much I ordered the all black with black buckle. I've gotten compliments on both. Thanks LaRue for selling this great piece of gear. Now you just need to get the word out

Awesome belt! Super stiff but also very comfortable. The buckle is amazing, it holds tight all day no matter how much gear you have on. I bought the coyote tan and it looks great with whatever I'm wearing. I love the fact that you can adjust it to wherever it feels comfortable as it has no preset holes like a normal belt. Seems like it's extremely durable and should hold up for years to come! This was my first purchase from LaRue but it definitely won't be my last!

Only my second order from Larue, but they've definitely earned my business. First off, the Belt itself is fantastic. Ares gear made a belt that is ridiculously good at bearing weight, yet somehow is not uncomfortable nor ugly. I got a coyote brown belt and am really pleased with the aegis as opposed to the ranger (which I still want...) for an EDC belt, as it doesn't stick out as too tacticool. Belt looks handsome, functions exceptionally, and is shockingly comfortable for a belt that makes a sig disappear. Couldn't recommend this belt more. The buckle itself is very secure, one of my initial concerns, but still easy to take on and off. Second on my review is Larue. Awesome company, fair prices, fairly decent shipping speeds, great customer service, and all that damn stupid swag that secretly love. Only my second order, but it definitely won't be my last.

Excellent belt. Works every bit as well as the Ares Gear Ranger belt for supporting your gear. However I find the Aegis better as a daily belt because it is simpler to thread through your pants and carry gear than the Ranger belt. This belt also seems a little more low key for daily concealed carry.

A great belt in many ways. It will not sag or "taco" under load due to its stiffness yet it's still relatively comfortable to wear all day, even while driving. Threading the belt through the pant loops take a little longer than normal though. I have the version with the black webbing and it blends in well with almost everything I wear. The buckle is actually very subtle doesn't draw anywhere near the attention I thought it would. The buckle also holds the belt very securely when locked, but is also very easy to remove when you want. I've found no negatives yet.

The buckle design does not slip but is self tightening, the belt does not stretch, I am extremely happy with this belt, it's exactly what I have been looking for! This belt is designed to last, the buckle is not some lightly stamped piece of steel either. Plus you always win purchasing from LARUE. Gotta go play with my dillo and swag! Thanks Larue!

I've had the ranger belt for the past 3 years and love it. The aegis is a lower profile and sleeker belt. It's a stiff belt that holds my concealed carry and extra mag very well with no sagging. Sizing is very accurate. I have a 33" waist and the belt has a 3 inch tail with nothing on it. Add an IWB holster and an OWB single mag carrier will leave me with 3/4 inch tail. I have been using the aegis for the last week and I foresee it sharing time with the ranger belt. Also, thanks Larue Tacitcal for the dillo dust and dillo.
