Lancer - L5AWM 5.56 30 Round Magazines

L5 Advanced Warfighter Magazine, 30 Round, Opaque Black. The L5AWM features a one piece hardened steel feed lip, impact resistant translucent polymer body, non-tilt follower, aggressive surface texture, stainless steel spring and slide on bottom. Compatible with: M4 / M16 / AR, HK416, ARX160, SCAR 16, SIG556, ARC, SA80 chambered in 5.56mmX45 / .223rem. Weight 4.4oz

WHAT IS L5AWM:
The L5AWM is the only HYBRID AR magazine available today, featuring the best characteristics of Polymer and Steel magazine designs. It’s NOT a Polymer Magazine. One Piece Wrap Around, Hardened Steel Feed Lips won’t bend or break, steel reinforces the back of the polymer body.

NOT a Steel Magazine. Lightweight polymer body is impact resistant from -40F to 180F, won’t dent like steel and weighs the same as aluminum

The L5AWM fills the gap between the current metal and polymer magazine designs combing the best features from both designs into a unique hybrid magazine. L5AWM has the reliability of a steel magazine, the durability of a polymer magazine and the weight of an aluminum magazine.

Unique to the AWM is the one piece wrap-around hardened steel feed lip assembly that is permanently attached to an impact resistant polymer body. The hardened steel feed lips won’t bend, break or deform due to rough handling or long term storage.

An aggressive surface texture has been applied to the polymer body to improve gripping and retrieval from pouches. The combination of steel and polymer result in a lightweight, robust magazine tough enough for professional use.

The internal geometry of the Advanced Warfighter Magazine is a constant curve that has been maximized to feed the 5.56X45mm NATO round and has a non-tilting follower for trouble-free feeding. The feed lips are made from a single piece of precision formed steel that is hardened, then PTFE coated for corrosion resistance. The body and component materials are corrosion and chemical resistant, passing military chemical testing, including exposure to DEET.

The L5AWM Translucent Advantage for professionals:
• Increases Op-Tempo
• Pre-combat inspections and checks
• Post contact checks
• Speeds ammunition consolidation
• Tactical Magazine Changes
• The aggressive body texture improve gripping
• Drops free from lower receivers
• The magazine is designed to resist damage from rough handling, dropping and abuse
• Vehicle Storage
• The L5AWM can be stored loaded in unconditioned environments; from +180F to -50F
• Ammunition Carry Policy
• Rapidly know what’s loaded
• Shared Resources – expedites shift change
• Know your round count
• Translucency allows range or shift personnel to see if their magazine is serviceable
• Training Safety
• Visual inspection lets everyone know how many rounds are on the firing line
• Quickly Identify what’s loaded; live rounds, blanks or marker rounds

This mag is about the only one I have ever used in my Wilson Combat Paul Howe. I have never had a malfunction using them. Recently, while at the range, the guy next to me was shooting his new Sig. His rifle was continuously mis feeding. I loaned him one of my Lancers, and his problems were over. That's why I bought more!!!

Absolutely the worst mags I've ever used. My employer supplied these and the failure rate was staggering. Thankfully they were only in our system a few months before being removed.

These Lancer mags are excellent! Very high quality. You can buy cheaper magazines but you can't buy better ones, IMO. I bought ten each in opaque and translucent, all in FDE for a new 300 BLK SBR. I wanted a different color to keep from mixing them up with my 5.56 mags. I load the ten opaque mags with supersonic rounds and the ten translucent mags with subs. This works well for me and I'm confident the Lancer quality will stand the test of time.

These magazines have all the positives of other polymer magazines - weight savings, durability, don't make noise knocking together - but with the metal reinforced feed lips have solved the big weakness. I carried them in Afghanistan and now have them in my grab bag. I won't use anything else.

Bought five of these in smoke translucent. Have not used them yet. But they look and feel very high quality. I called Lancer to ask a few questions before I purchased them. Very good customer service and support. I searched all my local gun stores and even the big chains for these. None anywhere. LaRue Tactical is the only place I found them in stock. The guys at LaRue are great to deal with. Fair prices and they throw in lots of cool free stuff. The Dillo Dust is great. I would pay for the bottle opener, but they threw one in. I am a new customer at LaRue. I will do business with them again.

I've only used Magpul up till now. These feel real good in the hand and besides feeling "plastic-y" are very solid. I haven't cycled these yet since I just got them but if they are as good as any other product Larue sells then I have no doubt they will work great. I'm sure I'll be buying more in the future.

L5awm mags rock. The spring steel feed lips are as durable as they get(only feedlips to survive loaded drop test undamaged), the translucent mag allows easy view of round count, the mags drop free, the follower cannot tilt.

These are great mags. Light weight poly and steel "where it counts". I have a Sig516 that is very finicky when it comes to poly mags. It will only run one of my Pmags. No issues with steel ones. I ran a couple of these in some rapid fire drills and reload drills without a hitch. If you are looking for light weight, these are the way to go.

Placed an order after seeing they were the only ones in stock online. Well, they weren't, and it took 4 weeks to ship so I'm not blown away by that but the mags are great. Larue did hook me up with some Dillo Dust meat rub, a battlefield mixer, some paper targets and some right wing bumper sticker swag. I have no room to complain, unless the Dillo Dust dry rub turns out to be horrible, do people even eat Armadillos? They are so cute. 5/5

Awesome mags, they've replaced Magpul mags as my go to. Superb fit, they drop free and smooth. Seem to be very well built, I love the fact that even with steel feed lips they appear to weigh the same as a Magpul. Plus there's a cool guy factor because they look great in person.

In my opinion, Lancer mags are the best you can buy. The polymer body and metal feed lips are what everybody wants/needs in a magazine. I have a few lowers and the L5s insert and drop free without issue. The opaque versions are the same price as any other mag at a sporting goods store and for a few dollars more you can get the translucent models. At this point and time, I only buy 2 types of mags... USGI and Lancer.

What drew me to this magazine was the use of metallic feed lips. The other polymer magazines can wear down quickly in the feed lip area. I have not shot any rounds using the Lancer, but it appears to be well made and robust. Larue is a great company to use for items list this. Their business model does not include gouging when others are doing that.

Lancer and LaRue have a lot in common, once you use them it's hard to use anything else. I have been using the AR platform for over 40 years and these are the best magazines out there. The steel lips provides a confidence factor unavailable with the other polymer Mags. P-Mags are good just not as good as these. I have used them in LWRC, DD, Noveske and a few other makes of AR and never has a problem. Buy with Lancer confidence and buy from LaRue with confidence. <1> RLTW!

Have not had a failure yet in any of my rifles (Colt, Larue, Noveske). Function has been reliable and perfect. I suspect those that have had issues may have some other problems other than the magazine. I like the ability to see rounds remaining in the mag. Also helps identify 300 BLK from 5.56. I wish some of the other colors were available. I would like to have more visual clues to distinguish between calibers.

Amazing magazine! It doesn't have that little piece of plastic between the rounds in the mag like the PMAG or Troy magazine, so I wouldn't say its as reliable as those, but it feeds great so far.

The translucent smoke mags buzz a bit when firing. That's not a big deal to me and they do feed well. I'm going to purchase a couple of the solid color mags for comparison, but I'm definitely sold on these mags. Round count, and round type at a glance. Sturdy as any polymer mag I own.

I picked up one of these to try in my Tavor. I wanted to try a few different mags before buying a bulk. Excellent quality and very light. Ran it 3 times, first time perfect, bolt locked open on last round. However, 2nd and 3rd times, bolt did not lock open. Gonna run it some more and see what happens.
