View Individual State Variances

The PredatOBR 7.62 was designed for those who are searching for a hybrid cross between the standard OBR and PredatAR 7.62x51 Rifles. The most remarkable feature of the PredatOBR is its ability to be completely “broken down” and stored into the optional Rollup Bag and Toolbox. The PredatOBR handguard has a locking stainless steel QD Lever system on each side. Once the levers are released, the handguard slides off of the upper assembly in seconds. The PredatOBR's barrel can easily be removed with the supplied PredatOBR Barrel Wrench, unscrew the Barrel Nut from Receiver and pull the Barrel Assembly free from Receiver. No need to remove the gas tube, gas block or muzzle device. Reverse the process to reinstall. Hand-tighten Barrel Nut and torque approximately 1/8-turn past hand-tight (Approximately 40-50 foot pounds). Once reassembled correctly, the point of impact (POI) shift will be 0.0 to 0.5 MOA of the original.

PredatOBR barrels are chambered in 7.62x51mm, and feature rifling in a 1/10 twist rate. All barrels are threaded in 5/8 x 24. Like the OBR and PredatAR riles, LaRue has eliminated the conventional AR barrel nut and bolt the handguard directly to the proprietary upper receiver, creating a true “free-float” barrel. The handguard does not touch the barrel or barrel nut at any place. The zero-MOA upper rail provides plenty of room for weapon-mounted night-vision day/night combinations. Both the upper and lower are CNC-machined from billet aluminum for the optimum fit and consistency. Even though it has been lightened certain features, there is still additional material in strategic areas to achieve maximum accuracy.

The PredatOBR has threaded stainless-steel hard-points over the entire length of the handguard at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. These hard-points have an integral spine built-in for structural support. Provided with the system are three 3-inch MIL-STD-1913 rail sections that can be positioned anywhere along the handguard, per operator preference. These rail sections are attachable/detachable using a supplied tool (Torx® T-15 wrench). The rail sections are CNC-machined from billet aluminum. This robust solution provides a perfect precision mounting space for aiming lasers, illumination and bipods.

The PredatOBR's Port Selector Technology™ (PST) gas block is adjustable, to aid in the optimum function when using a sound suppressor. This special gas block contains a dual port mechanism that is operated by rotating a lever from one side to another. When the lever is rotated to the right-side of the rifle, the gasses are reduced, to compensate for the extra blowback created by the suppressor. When rotated to the left side, the gasses are increased for use without a suppressor.

The LaRue Tactical 6-position Retract Action Trigger (R.A.T.) Stock comes standard with every PredatOBR. It is ergonomic, has protected control surfaces and contains a set of cleaning rods in an internal compartment. Since the height of the 12 o’clock rail is at the optimum position, there is no need for a cheek riser as part of this system.

NOTE: In compliance with NFA rules and regulations, all LaRue Tactical 14.5" barreled rifles are pinned and welded at the factory, unless the rifle is first registered with the BATFE as an NFA item (short barreled rifle or machine gun). The process of pinning and welding permanently affixes the muzzle device to the barrel, bringing the overall length to 16.1" or greater. Any attempt to remove a muzzle device from a pinned and welded barrel will result in damage to the barrel, and will not be covered by any LaRue warranty.

About LaRue Firearm Accuracy:
LaRue accuracy is known world-wide. The accuracy of each LaRue Rifle is proven at our 100-yard tunnel using match-grade ammunition. No LaRue firearm can leave the facility unless it obtains accuracy of less-than 1 MOA (1.047”) at 100 Yards. Each firearm ships with a copy of a 3-round group obtained from that actual firearm. While we guarantee the rifle is capable of sub-MOA accuracy, we can not guarantee the end-user will be able to shoot sub-MOA…since we have no control over shooting proficiency, familiarity with the system, ammunition choice, environmental factors, etc. LaRue firearms are precision instruments that require discipline, training, proper ammunition and maintenance to yield the best results.

The fit and finish on the new take down PredatOBR is excellent. After handling the the rifle up close I am even more impressed with the exact machine tolerances. Very light weight hand guard system. The closer you look at this weapon, the more respect you get for the design. The PredatOBR is the finest weapon I have ever owned. After breaking it down and rebuilding it, the zero was right on. This performance comes from building each part as perfect as possible. Of course I use the LARUE scope mounts also. I have been a fan of LARUE ever since shooting my first Stealth upper, but the new PredatOBR takes performance, style, and precision to a new level. My 14.5" PredatOBR shoots and cycles smooth with and without a suppressor. They tuned it right, it's not over gassed. The groups I am getting with the new LARUE barrel are consistent sub-MOA (often closer to 1/2 MOA) with various quality ammo (Hornady, Federal Gold Medal, 118 LR, HSM). Using this rifle with the SureFire SOCOM flash hider and suppressor. The new drop in trigger is great. For all that goes into this rifle, it's a good value too. Don't compromise, get the best semi-auto 7.62 ever made and buy a LARUE. Jamie Wiedeman

After the long wait, and all of the excitement building up to receiving this rifle, I was a bit worried that it would not meet my inflated expectations. It blew them away. This is not a gun, it is a functional piece of art. On top of that, it shoots tighter groups than my 700. I love it so much that I am now ordering a 5.56 to go with it.

I've had my PredatOBR for a month now and after the long wait I'd gladly do it all over again! From the machine work to the finish its in a class of its own. First time out 3 out of 5 rounds were thru the same hole off of sand bags at 100yds when we were just trying to zero the scope. I'd rate it at 10 stars if I could.

I have had the rifle for a couple months now and have shot it a good bit. Each shooting session I disassemble the weapon to include removing the scope with a LaRue scope mount. Each time the gun returns to exact zero. It's a fun demo to break the rifle down, put it back together, and shoot it with no change in zero. Really like the new trigger also. Jamie Wiedeman

Awesome rifle! Very well put together. This is my third AR 10 type rifle, I went through the RRA lar 8, the Daniel defense dd5v1 and all fell through due to be unreliable while suppressed, seeing how this is the only way I shoot I couldn't have that. Larue has solved that problem with there surpressed - unsupressed gas system. My predatobr 14.5 with the tranquillo suppressor is a winning combination, accuracy is phenomenal, great sound reduction and no blowback of gas to the face. Rifle length, weight and feel with the can on is very well balanced too with the 14.5 length so that was an extra plus. All in all this rifle has left little to nothing else to be desired other than small part modifications like stock, pistol grip, or trigger all of which are shooter preferences anyway. Spend your money right the first time and buy with larue and I'd also strongly suggest using there tranquillo can as well for the best results with accuracy. Bradley Briscoe, Oxford Mississippi

I love my PredatOBR. This rifle is simply one of the finest weapons ever made. The quality is simply outstanding. When you disassemble it the fit and finish of each part is like a precision of a critical surgical instrument. Just disassemble any competing AR rifle and you immediately see and feel the difference. The accuracy and reliability are outstanding. I'm waiting for LaRue to come out with another limited edition FDE AR-15 so I can snatch one up. If I could have a wish it would be that LaRue offer an 45 ACP 1911 style pistol in FDE. I'm certain it would set the bar for all others.

This rifle is a piece of art. The machining is so smooth and precise that you can barely tell where the lower ends and the upper begins. It is so tight with no wobble that you can barely get it apart. Being a .308 it will never be "light" but the 14.5 inch barrel brings the mass closer to the body and I find it easy to handle. It is also super accurate and I run it in the heavy division of 3gun. Perfect rifle.

I have owned my PredatOBR 7.62 with 14.5" barrel for a little over two years. The machining on my weapons platform was so tight when I got it, I actually needed a rubber mallet to separate the upper from the lower. I have added the LaRue MTB two stage trigger and it is just an amazing piece of work. The fit and finish are TOP NOTCH period on the OBR! I have been able to consistently put 2 and 3 shots in a dime diameter from 100 yards. This is a real sub MOA system. Over time, I have moved out to 600 yards and ring steel 3 & 4 inch gongs with zero issues. I have a Bushnell Elite Tactical 4.5 x 30 x 50 scope with the Horus 59 reticle and the LT1 quick detachable mounts and a Surefire full size can. I break the weapon down every time and put it back in the tool box. It comes back together and shoots right on the mark every single time without issue. Mark LaRue and the team he has are second to no one! Keep up the outstanding attention to detail, quality and customer service.

I waited years to save enough for this hog, only waited 3 1/2 weeks and just received my PredatOBR 14.5 7.62 Beyond ecstatic for the next coming weeks of optics hunting and metal ringing. The craftsmanship of the rifle is what I expected years ago, and what I just got. It WILL replace my bolt rifle without a doubt. Lightweight and stout. The machine work is just nuts. Take your time if you have to (i did). Because buying some rifles is just losing money. LaRue makes a firearm that is treasured. Mine is.

I had VERY high expectations for this rifle and was still blown away when I got it, very impressive!! pictures don't do the OBR justice, the attention to detail used when building this platform is outstanding. Also the wait wasn't long at all i don't know if it was a fluke or what but I ordered the rifle 05 FEB and it shipped on 16 FEB very fast turn around. The one complaint I have is the paint on the rail, I bought the roll up bag/ tool box combo and have taken the gun apart about 3 times and the paint is some how chipped around the back edge of the rail never dropped it or anything, I just noticed it before I wrote this and have not had a chance to talked to anyone at Larue to see whats up with that. other than that I love it.
