About LaRue Upper Accuracy:
LaRue accuracy is known world-wide. The accuracy of each LaRue Upper is proven at our 100-yard tunnel using match-grade ammunition. No LaRue Upper can leave the facility unless it obtains accuracy of less-than 1 MOA (1.047”) at 100 Yards. Each ships with a copy of a 3-round group obtained from that actual assembly. While we guarantee the rifle is capable of sub-MOA accuracy, we can not guarantee the end-user will be able to shoot sub-MOA…since we have no control over shooting proficiency, familiarity with the system, ammunition choice, environmental factors, etc. LaRue Upper Assemblies are precision instruments that require discipline, training, proper ammunition and maintenance to yield the best results.

Upper Receiver:
The LaRue Stealth receiver is an improved-version of the currently fielded mil-spec flat-top receiver. Machined from billet aluminum, the Stealth is designed with more of material in critical areas to alleviate past issues of weakness and to stiffen the receiver, maximizing the weapons overall accuracy.

Barrels:
LaRue Barrels are chambered in .223 wylde, 1-in-8 twist rifling in medium-weight contour.

Free-Float Integrated Rail System:
CNC-machined out of aluminum, LT handguards are available in 7.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 12.0, and 13.2 lengths. Our two-pin proprietary barrel nut system with its locking anti-slip plate, sets LaRue handguards apart from the competition. Once the rail is properly installed, there is no chance of movement whatsoever. Everything locks into place rock-solid. This is vital when utilizing lasers, optics and other hardware. The side and bottom rails are tucked closer to the barrel, keeping the profile narrower and more streamlined. Special cuts on each rail's end are designed to work with both mil-issue and standard rail covers. LaRue handguards also include a QD sling-swivel socket integrally-mounted at the base of each side for convenient mounting 2-point slings. Additionally, our Free-float Rail system provides an excellent heat-sinking feature that pulls throat-damaging heat away from the chamber area. Another heat-sinking benefit is the elimination of pressure-spikes, which some feel is the cause of a large part of pre-mature bolt failures.

M16 Bolt-Carrier Group:
Assembled to TexasSpecTM our Bolt Carrier Groups use the same mil-spec hardware used military-wide. Additionally, LT assembly enhancements greatly minimize bolt-related failures. Mil-spec gas-key contact areas are precision surface-ground flat for zero gas leakage and then max-staked to eliminate all chances of vibration-induced failures.

Assembly and Testing:
Every LT Stealth Sniper System is precision-assembled and as part of the QA procedure, goes through a final 10-round live-fire function test before being tube-packaged.

I saved my money in order to purchase a LaRue 16" Stealth upper and lower for the range as well as hunting. It has been a great decision in my opinion. I have had zero problems with my Stealth upper and the fit and finish are amazing. LaRue knows quality and they back it up in their products. I will continue to buy from them for their products and top- notch customer service.

I purchased the Stealth Upper in the 16 inch variant in May 2011, but I did not want to do a review until I had spent a great deal of time shooting this upper. Larue stated they had 3/4 inch groups in mind when they designed the Stealth and all I can say is, that is an understatement! My Stealth will shoot .252-.408 inch groups with factory Hornady Match 75 BTHP all day. I have expensive precision bolt guns that can't shoot 1/4 inch groups, and to get .252 inch groups from an AR platform is simply amazing! Larue Tactical has a loyal customer for life and thank you for your support of our troops! May God Bless you all! JW

I put together a rifle recently for my father-in-law. He told me he wanted 'the best', so we went with a LaRue 20" Stealth upper. I then mounted a 10x SWFA Super Sniper scope on a Stag lower with a Rock River 2 stage trigger parts kit and an A2 stock kit. I loaded him some Sierra 77's to mag length for this rifle. His first shot was perfect elevation, near the edge of the paper at 100 yards. I estimated the adjustment in my head, leaned over, cranked the windage knob and had him fire again. The second shot was in the orange in the center of the target with the others falling within 1" of it. He is pretty rusty with a rifle but even he was shooting close to 1 MOA. The rifle also draws a lot of attention at the range. Everyone wants to take turns drooling over it. Thank you LaRue for making an awesome product!

I have put around 3,000 rounds through it this last year and have seen no drop in performance. Wish larue would make one is 7.62 in the near future, and would also start producing lowers so I can have a full LT set up for this upper. Very happy customer over here, you will not regret the purchase one bit! Thank you LT, -Thomas M

When La Rue says sub 1 MOA at 100 yards, you better believe it! I took it to the range to sight in both the iron sights and Aimpoint. While there, a guy was bragging about is SKS that he just had worked on. When he saw my AR, he commented on how nice it was not to have a 3-4 MOA gun any more. Let's just say when I retrieved the target with four different 1/2 inch groups, he shut up really quick. Rock on La Rue!!!

I just got back from my first time at the range with this upper and I am very impressed. I've been shooting a 16" middy of another quality brand with a 4x optic but wanted a 20" rifle length AR for precision shooting. After much research online I bought a 20" / 13.2" stealth with the MBT trigger. While I didn't quite shoot the 0.4" test group that came with the rifle, I was consistently shooting 5-round groups of 69 gr FGMM just either side of 1" with a 10x scope and I'm a fairly novice shooter. With a higher powered scope I'm sure the groups would have been smaller, and with more trigger time from me, smaller still. I'm already looking forward to getting back to the range ASAP and working on getting those groups down to what this upper is capable of. I can't recommend the Stealth upper highly enough.

I have to tell a story first. Original purchase was BCM DMR. Same price, good looks, all great until I took it to the range. Got group measuring 3" at 50 yards. Told by BCM that it might take up to 400 (I am not making this up!) rounds to "break in" barrel. Upper went back to the company and with lots of aggravation I got my money back finally. Here, well... Today, on first day of shooting my 20"Stealth I reproduced the results from factory test target (used 77gr Remington match though). What else do I need to say? Thank you very much!

After boresighting (Razor HD Gen2 1-6 in a LaRue mount of course) and getting on paper at 50, I shot at 100. 3 shot group was .750". I needed to come right and down so I made the adjustments and shot another group. .375". That's 3/8 of an inch at 100 yds from a 12" barrel. Ammo is Fiocchi 69gr SMKs. Rest was two sand bags. Moderate wind quartering towards me from the right. About 80 degrees and 70% humidity. Elevation approx. 550 feet. Test target that was sent with the upper is .581". “ Yeah, I'd recommend one of these uppers to anyone who is interested in making tightly grouped holes.

I bought a 16"/13.2 upper back in '08. I've put thousands of rounds through it. I've shot competitions with it, I use it at work, I've smashed windows with it, etc... This thing will take whatever you throw at it and keep running. It'll eat whatever ammo you feed it. It's more accurate than I realistically need. It's not is pretty as it once was, it has a lot of scuffs and scratches.... but hot damn I love this rifle. Worth every penny, and to date, it's my favorite rifle. The only down side I can think of, is that in order to be that accurate, it's a bit on the hefty side. But once the shooting starts, you forget all about that. I can honestly say that in over 8 years of solid abuse/use this rifle has never let me down. The dependability and accuracy of this rifle makes it a no brainer regardless of what you're going to use it for.

Shopped quite awhile for an accurate 20" upper assembly to mount on a Colt lower and am very satisfied with this purchase. 3 other custom manufacturers were backlogged up to a year and one required me to send the lower assembly to them for fitting. Fit, machining, and finish are great. Larue Tech Support and Sales were very helpful with questions and the extras (stock, grip, rail handgrips, etc) were a bonus. Can always use another dillo:) The 3 round factory proof target records a spread of .476" (2 touching) at 100yds with 69gr FGMM ammo. Highly recommend this assembly and if I purchase another complete rifle will shop Larue first.

When I first wanted to get into ARs a friend of mine who I thought was knowledgeable about the subject recommended LWRC. I wanted an SBR so I ordered an 6.8 SPC M6 PSD and a AAC suppressor. After the long wait everything arrived and I was very disappointed in how the rifle performed. The SBR ran fine without the suppressor, but was way over gassed when suppressed. The piece would not run reliably at all. Tried different mag makers, all different weights in buffers and buffer springs. Accuracy was about 4-5 MOA at 100 yards. Sent the barrel back, but was told the short 8 1/2" barrel would ruin the Supressor. The new 8.5" barrel came with a smaller gas port, so reliability improved, but accuracy was about the same. So I bought a 12" 6.8 SPC upper and was even more disappointed. This 12" barrel shot 4-6" groups at 50 yards using Hornady and Silver State factory Ammo. I returned this upper and the people at LWRC said the barrel was not up to their specks. Another barrel was placed on the upper and I shot that one 3 weeks ago with poor results as well. With a Nightforce 1 X 10 I was getting 4-5" groups at 100 yards. I sent this upper back to LWRC as well. They still have it. I have given up on LWRC as it was pretty obvious their quality control is not up to even reasonable standards. So I have this registered SBR that I have spent way too much money on.....what to do. LaRue to the rescue! Bought a 12" Stealth upper which arrived with a target of 3/4" 100 yard group. My only issue is that I wish it had the same gas port system as their OBRs, as I want to place my new Surefire SOCOM Suppresser on it and don't want it to be over gassed.. So I have ordered an adjustable gas port from Syrac Ordinance and will switch out gas ports. I should finally have the SBR I wanted from the beginning. Needless to say I know more about ARs now than my friend........but had to learn the hard way.

Holy crap I am kicking myself for waiting so long to buy this upper! the 18" with 12" hand guard arrived and are flawless and accurate to boot. The proof test sheet was present if I did my part. I had to go all the way and install the MBT two stage trigger which is fantastic, the lt104 mount and the RAT stock which is going on a different build. Customer support is top notch as well, many phone calls answered my questions and have them with a life customer. I am already loading up my cart for new goodies to buy!

I finally got my new 16'' Stealth Upper out to the range today and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I've shot a lot of ARs in many different configurations and this thing blows them all out of the water in terms of accuracy. My upper shipped with a test target that measured .642 and I was able to duplicate this with a 4x ACOG at 100 yards with 77gr SMK. Sub MOA is guaranteed as long as the shooter does their part, and obtaining 1 MOA accuracy is laughabley easy. My upper is mated to a Mega billet lower (I would have bought a Larue Lower if they still sold them!!!) and sports a Geissele SSA trigger. This is definitely a winning combination but the accuracy is solely due to the awesomeness of the stealth upper. The only complaint I have is the fact that now I have to start saving for a Pred OBR is 7.62!

I've had my 20" Stealth waiting for me the day I got home from Afghanistan (2010). I rushed to it before my wife. With 69gr FGMM, this this holds it's own with my bolt guns. On a typical day, I shoot waaay under MOA (typically 1/3-1/2). The only thing I don't like with mine is that the upper fits so tight to the lower, I have to use a brass punch to break the weapon down. It's great for precision but a pain if I need to take the bolt out in a hurry. I've only ever used Hornady Match or FGMM and have never had a FTF or FTE. People break their necks to look at it. Homerun, Larue.

I purchased my 18" LaRue Stealth upper a few months ago, and just recently took it to the range for the first time. I'm very pleased with the accuracy potential of the rifle that I put together using this upper. I'm a LaRue fan for life now. Later on I also plan to purchase a LaRue OBR 5.56 16". There are very few companies that I trust to deliver what they promise, but LaRue is one of them.

I received my 18" Stealth upper about a month and a half ago and I am very impressed with it, like I am with everything I have ordered from LaRue. At this point I probably only have about 100 rounds through it, but it is definitely shooting sub MOA. I definitely recommend it if you are looking for an accurate, quality built upper for your AR.

This thing is the most accurate rifle I own. I have to run some GMM and Black Hills through it. So far it has about 200 rds of IMI 77 gr. smk through it. It's always sub moa. Best was .345" at 100 yards. Many are .5". No malfunctions.

Bought the Stealth 16" upper and received it in November. This weapon is great and fit perfect on my lower, no wiggle or slop whatsoever. This baby shoots like a dream and performed well with <1 MOA at 100 yards with 77 grain Black Hills Ammo. Put some LaRue index clips on it, and an LT-FUG. Performs like it should, worth the wait and worth every penny. When I decide to get a 7.62 it will be from LaRue as well. Thank you for the great customer service, and product.

Best AR upper I have ever owned. I purchased the 18" barrel upper. With my hand loaded 75 grain Hornaday HP/BT match bullets and my Nightforce 3.5-15, this rifle will hold 1/2-3/4 MOA out to 600 yards. Luckily when I ordered mine a few years ago, I received it in about 4 weeks. These uppers are worth the money with out question.

Disclosure. My very 1st review ever with LT. I am a tOBR owner and a recipient of a "hot towel treatment" --- not sure if it matters. In my humble opinion... My 18" Stealth Upper is as described and fits like a glove with my lower. I just wanted to put it on paper and the indoor range at 25m is spot on. I have no doubt of its accuracy based on my experience with the tOBR. My comments are more toward customer feedback. 1) The BCG and low-gas block should be upgraded to the tOBR version. I suppress my rifles and this is extremely helpful to be able to toggle the gas selection. 2) The quad handguard is OK but seriously, please consider other options for your customer. (Ie... BCM KMR type or allow an upgrade to a handguard like the tOBR.) I'm sure a redesign due to the tOBR takedown design. 3) A2 birdcage at the end of this fine machinery? Really? The simple fix here is to allow a dropdown selection for the Surefire break/hider. Keyword is "turn key solution". It is not a big to replace the muzzle device but allow this option. Thanks, customer in Atlanta, GA

Upper was a perfect fit to my 83' EA lower, no wiggle. Accuracy is unparalleled, dime size groupings at 100yds with Sierra Matchking BTHP 69gr. shot with harris bipod. Wind was a slight factor so I am very confident in the barrels ability. Ordered other match ammo to try. Cheap ammo (american eagle, monarch, etc.) shot 1"-1.5" groupings, gunpowder residue was extremely uneven around top of the brass compared to using match ammo which was extremely consistent. Highly suggest a bore guide to clean this barrel to preserve the accuracy.

LaRue products are second to none! This upper is a real tack driver and worth every penny. Now I just need to save my pennies for a LaRue .308. The build quality is excellent, finish excellent and it shoots excellently! Don't waste your time, or ruin your barrel / chamber shooting crap ammo, use high quality brass ammo and you along with your barrel will be happy campers. Mark LaRue and company thanks for an excellent product - well worth the wait! Keep up the good work.

I bought a 18" Stealth upper from a buddy of mine that said he couldn't get it to shoot very well. I'm not sure what he was talking about, because I'm getting consistent 1/4 to 1/2 moa groups using 69 grain Federal Gold Medal Match, I took it to a Long Range Rifle Operator course, hosted by a neighboring Agency. Most everyone was shooting .308 bolt rifles and there was one 7.62 OBR in the group. The Q course is from 600 yards in to 100 yards and you shoot other courses out to 800 yards. The bigger guns had an advantage on me at 500 yards out to 800 yards, but the Stealth performed great and hung with them and I made it through the course with very few problems. Afterwards, the Instructors said I was the first person that had ever tried the run a 5.56 rifle through the entire course. This is by far the most accurate 5.56/.223 rifle I have ever shot.

I waited for this Stealth upper for exactly 19 months and as I suspected it was worth every minute. the fit, finish & performance far exceeds all my expectations. I built my CMT Gen 2 UHP Billet lower with a Wilson LPK and Hiperfire 24C. Finished the Lower with the complementary R.A.T. Stock, A-peg grip, index clips & handstop. Then topped it off with the LaRue 16" complete STEALTH Upper with 13.2" hand guard. Thee test target showed three hits at .383 and a dine will conceal all three hits! I,m not there yet but the rifle sure is and I know with continued practice I will be too. I have owned the alphabet of rifles and uppers and have sold all but one! Now I own another that is the LaRue Tactical 5.56 Sniper System LT1011 that surpasses all the others. There is only room for ONE more and that one is the LaRue 7.62 PredatAR system. I'll KEEP YOU POSTED! Robert Lee, So. Fl Special thanks to Brent Cloyd & Juli Keenan for representing LaRue in such a magnificent fashion !

I installed the 20" Stealth upper with 13.2" hand-guard on my Stag lower for a purpose-built DMR. It is the most accurate AR platform rifle that I have ever owned or fired, and I have fired or owned more than a few. With or without the AAC M4-2000 suppressor attached, it will group any load that I have tried from 55gr FMJ to 77gr SMKs into less than one MOA at any distance out to 500 yards. I can't think of any higher praise for this upper than that.
