Trijicon MRO QD Mount Combo

The Trijicon MRO™ (Miniature Rifle Optic) is a sealed miniature reflex sight intended for use on rifles, carbines and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. The large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area and allows for better situational awareness and fast target engagement – especially from non-standard shooting positions. Combine all this with the ambidextrous brightness controls, sub-flush adjusters, advanced lens coatings and the fully sealed, waterproof, hard anodized forged 7075-T6 housing and you have the ultimate mini reflex sight on the market.

The combo comes with one of the following QD mounts (select on pull-down menu to the right).
LT839 Standard
LT849 Forward Cant

Like all LaRue mounts, they are precision-machined out of bar-stock aluminum and matte black anodized to provide a durable non-reflective surface finish. The locking LaRue Speed Lever provides outstanding return to zero; the optic can be removed, and replaced, without loss of zero. Guaranteed.

Both mount options allow a 1/3 cowitness with the Iron Sights on M4 Carbine and AR-15 Flattops. Each mount comes complete with replacement mounting screws with wrench, QD adjustment wrench, vial of blue Locktite and Instructions.

Let me start by saying that I carry a rifle for a living, and have for nearly 17 years. I don't buy these to sit in a safe. I was in the market for the Trijicon MRO anyway. I bought from LaRue because I wanted the 849 mount. I have owned a flashlight mount for a couple years and use it daily. I think they make the best QD mounts available and I will be buying more in the future.

I'm usually not one to write a review about product I purchase, or anything for that matter. After my recent and only experience with Larue, I figured I was kinda obligated to do so. Not only is this optic and the mount I have selected high quality, so is the customer service. I had my item shipped 2nd day air, but the carrier Mis-sorted my product and sent it in the opposite direction it should have gone. I contacted Customer service about the shipping error, they got back to me very quickly and refunded me the difference. I also really like the extra swag that was thrown in to the package. Larue now has a customer for life.

Bought the combo with the 849 QD mount. I figured since the USMC uses Larue products they would absolutely hold up to anything I could put them through. Actually had to call to place my order because I was using a gift card. Customer service was great. The optic and mount arrived one day prior to the expected date! Outstanding quality and craftsmanship. To my surprise there were tons of things in the box that I proudly display and wear. It seems someone just walked through the shipping warehouse throwing in every cool thing in sight. My buddies loved the extra stickers and catelogs. Now I've got to go through the gun cabinet and replace all of my mounts with Larue products. Thanks again.

As always LaRue delivers! I've shot a short 3gun stage with an MRO and decided I needed one. Well I shopped around and decided to go with LaRue since it was cheaper with the QD mount and I've had positive experience with them before. It's definitely a well built mount and can't wait to beat on it in future 3gun matches. Thanks for all the freebies, Dillo dust is the sh*t.

MRO is comparable to any other red dot of any make I own and remain very price competitive; now have more of these than other red dots. LaRue's cost is competitive even with their great mounts (and lots of extras with each order). LaRue mounts rock!! Best I have ever seen. Have both 839 and 849 for different applications; love both. On one order, number of screws were short; after contact Larue had them to me in 2-3 days without any hassle. Every other order with this company has been perfect.

Got my order in about a week, which included a holiday weekend. The LT839 mount was a solid and well made mount. It locked on to my pic rail w/o any additional adjustment. The MRO mounted right up to the mount and had A solid interface. Took it to the range and had it sighted in with about 15 rounds. Started running multiple target speed drills and was amazed at how fast acquisition was and the clarity of the optic. I found setting 4 to be good for the sunny/overcast day. Looking forward to more shooting w/ the combo. Also, I love all the swag that LaRue includes. As if the awesome price on the optic/mount combo wasn't the best around, they stuffed the box full of more cool stuff!

Excellent optic, so far. Replaced Eotech 516s on my son's and my rifles. Using in conjunction with the Aimpoint 3x magnifier on LaRue's low, swing-aside mounts. Tested them in sub-zero temps (out to 500 yards) (www.blgc.org) to 73 degree indoor range (www.dcfguns.com) in less than two hours. Really impressed. Former 11B (light) (1988-1992), current Oath Keeper. Looking for combat reliability and it looks like I found it. In Colorado we can see temp swings of more than 40 degrees in a day. It is critical that weapons work and remain close to zero out here with temperature changes. Our lines of sight can vary from 20 yards to 2 miles. Always happy with Trijicon and always impressed with LaRue.

First off, this review has nothing bearing on LaRue, just the optic. LaRue shipped it quick and the mount is awesome as always. I really wanted to love this optic. Not much bigger or heavier than an Aimpoint Micro, and better field of view with a lower cost. Fit and finish are nice, it works well but when I went to sight it in, it shot way left. Literally over a foot to the left. I ran out of windage and it still shot about six inches to the left. I swapped it to a different upper and it was only three inches left, and the Aimpoint Pro that was sighted in fine on the second upper was barely off on the first upper. Got an RMA with Trijicon and sent it in. They sent me a whole new unit two weeks later. Put this one on the mount and boresight it. This time it runs out of windage right as it lines up. Still need to go shoot it to verify, but it looks like I won't buy another MRO since it seems the issue is with the design.

This is not a review of Larue whom have always done well by me. The issue with this optic is the far too delicate battery tabs. I received the optic and it would not turn on. I opened the battery compartment and found one of the battery tabs broken off. There is a video on the Trijicon website warning that it is critical to follow the instructions regarding the installation of the battery whomever put the battery in must have never checked that the battery was properly installed. The tabs are flimsy and very thin. I cannot believe any electrical engineer would design the battery interface in this way. I am returning this optic for a refund and I will save to by another Aimpoint. What an immense disappointment.

You'd be a fool not to go for this Texas/American made combo. I went with the 849 for the look and it is as solid as you would expect from Larue. This is my first MRO but I decided to try it to compare to the 6 Eotech EXPS2-0 sights that I love and are accustomed to. Not quite the same LARGE field of view of the Eotechs but it's pretty good and certainly way better than the overpriced ones made in Sweden. Battery life is miles above the Eo's too so that's a very acceptable trade off to me. I'm lucky enough to be in a zip code over from the fine folks at Larue so I get all my orders next day. Needless to say their shipping speed is excellent and the boxes are always packed with bonus goodies! Great price on this combo so don't be a fool and get this set of great American hardware!

Can't go wrong ordering from Laue. Not only did they have the lowest price on the Trijicon MRO they include one of their top quality QD mounts basically for free. On top of that, add free shipping and a lot of extra swag in the box (hat, stickers, heavy duty bottle opener, Dillo Dust seasoning, pocket constitution, paper targets, book on how to care for horses and a battlefield paint mixer). The optic itself is everything that I had expected and ships with a battery installed. The MRO is lightweight for something that is built so tough and has a clear crisp dot. The larger objective gives you a better sight picture than other micro dots and the top mounted control knob is easy to operate right or left handed. The recessed windage and elevation controls are clearly marked and have a nice audible click. You do notice a slight magnification at very close distances but it's not enough that it causes any issues shooting with both eyes open. Glass is super clear as you would expect from Trijicon. I will be purchasing more of these in the future.

Went with the LT839 mount to put the MRO on my 11.5" barreled SBR. Mount feels very solid. Quality appears top notch. Quite impressed with the mount. Optic/mount are nice and light. One thing I didn't realize is that the optic doesn't come pre mounted. Not a big deal really. Took all of 3 minutes to do.so. Comes with an allen wrench, small tuber of blue loc-tite, 5 screws (1 extra incase you drop one I suppose), a 3/8" wrench to adjust the throw lever tension, and very basic instructions. Someone even non mechanically inclined should be able to put the optic on the mount. Just a heads up. Does not come with the factory mount (which I believe it states on the website). Not sure why you'd want it anyways. The LT839 is far superior. The 4 small screws (factory design, not Larue's design) to attach the optic to the mount are awfully tiny. Hopefully they las. I don't plan on beating up the optic. They just appear delicate. I wouldn't suggest dropping the screws. Good luck finding them. The optic itself is sweet too. I haven't noticed any blue tint, distortion, or any other complaints the gun board Internet commandos gripe about. Did notice a little washout if I pointed it right into a super bright light, but all red dots will do that. Ymmv. Field of view is nicer than similar small red dots. Brightness adjustment knob has 2 off settings which I really dig. Setting 3 was a good all around setting for me. When I ordered the optic/mount combo, it was back ordered 1-2 weeks, but shipped out within about 4 days. Price is really reasonable. They sent me some cool free swag (hat, bbq rub, bottle opener, targets, stickers) which is really cool. Definitely appreciate a company who does that for their customers. All in all, I really like it. Compact, light, the optic and mount itself appear very tough (we will see about them tiny screws over the long term), great warranty, reasonable price, cool free swag, quick and cheap shipping. Thinking of buying another MRO for my CZ Scorpion.

That's how I stumbled upon this combo deal. Sure it might have only saved me about $10-15 but the extra swag I received in my box tripled maybe quadrupled my savings. It took a little longer than amazon prime shipping but hell I'd wait an extra week for some extra goodies and knowing I directly supported an all American product. No doubt I'd recommend this combo to anyone in the market for the MRO with QD mount!

LaRue is an impressive company. The LT849 mount is top notch. The Trijicon optic appears to be made to "Hard-Use" standards. The optic is clear and has a great field of view. In my house I can notice a hint of blue in the optic depending on the lighting and wall colors. Still, the object I am looking at has always been clear and has the correct color hue. The optic is nothing short of impressive in ambient sunlight. The red dot is crisp, when set on the appropriate level, and seems to be a true one power optic. I highly recommend this item!

I put MRO's on 2 different SBR's and the quality, durability and ease of use are all top notch. I use both the LT849 and LT839 one on each rifle. Each mount is sold and rugged which is nice to see considering they are very light weight. The MRO has a decent dot without fuzz as you increase the intensity. I've found running on the 3-4 setting is more than enough for most indoor or outdoor shooting environments. The overall bang for buck here is the best part as I spent under 500.00 for a mount and optic that fit the bill for being rugged and durable. I highly recommend this combo for any rifle that you will be shooting out 75-100 yards.

Second when zeroing the wind and elevation adjustments are too fine , not as pronounced as the Aimpoints, I found myself going to far with the range, Did I go 6 clicks or 4? Once zeroed not an issue. Third the red dot brightness setting's do not have the range of the Aimpoints, one turn up the dots too big, too bright, one turn down the dots is too small and not bright enough. I am going to sell the sight and buy an Aimpoint T2

I have owned or currently own several eotech including the E-xps models and have been on the Aimpoint micro train for several years. that said this optic kicks ass. in my very limited experience with it thethus far I feel that it is faster than either of the competitors. the Aimpoint micro has a really hit or mis dot shape/clarity and the tube size tends to interfere with situational awareness. the MRO fixes the "bean shaped" fuzzy dot and as much much better field of view, but not so large that you can't put a CQB range target in the tube and light it up. The Eotech has the best field of view but I have always felt the circle dot reticle is much much slower than just putting a silhouette in the tube and let her rip. at least for me I tend to be too focused on an overly perfect sight picture with the eotech's reticle. The MRO in my lowly opinion is the perfect compromise between the Aimpoint and the Eotech. I also personally feel that the MRO is tougher than the competitors, just look on you tube. I also really like the brightness adjuster on the top of the optic instead of it being on the side. This feature allows me to adjust brightness for varying shooting environments as I move through them with out taking my eyes of my environment and still adjusting the optic with either hand regardless of what side of my body I am holding the rifle with. throw in a battery life that falls into the epic category making the optic near perfect in my eyes. Add this awesome optic to the rock solid Larue mount and you have a winning combination when I purchase my MRO/mount combo from Larue.com the list price for a no mount MRO on amazon was the same as Larue's price. I pretty much got the mount for free as well as all the free schwag Larue throws in the box. SUPER HAPPY CUSTOMER HERE (AKA new MRO fan boy)

The Trijicon MRO is what it is; an outstanding optic. As this is a review for LaRue, I'll focus on the mount and their service. The mount, the first of its kind for me, was a little confusing at first. Even with the instructions, I had to pull up YouTube to see how to adjust and mount it. Not a big deal though as it's something I'll only have to figure out once. The mount is solid, easy to install and looks great. I have absolutely no complaints. It is a great QD mount and an even better deal when coupled with the MRO. The customer service, praised by many, was still a surprise. I open the box and find not only my MRO and a LaRue mount but also a cap, dry rub for meat (I now have no reason not to fix those deer backstraps) and bumper stickers, targets and the like. LaRue is not the only company to have surprised me with a little swag added to the purchase but not many do. The moment I saw everything included in the box, I knew that LaRue was going to get more business. It's the little things. Nicely done, LaRue. I'm looking for reasons to give you more of my money.

Great job from larue. Order, shipment, price, and mount were all great!!! My gripe is with the MRO. Obviously it is a great optic for other people due to its popularity. Unfortunately, my eyes or brain would not allow me to focus on targets when viewing with both eyes open. I always saw a double image. Also had trouble intermittently with dot clarity which was strange. Again probably my eyes. Did a comparison at a local shop with the aimpoint pro and had none of the same issues so I am exchanging it. I had read reviews about people having similar issues and I guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones. i would definitely recommend you try the different options before you buy if you can so you don't burn money on shipping costs which are the responsibility of the customer.

I ordered my Trijicon MRO with the LT849 mount on a Friday and it was delivered on the following Monday which happened to be MLK Day. Wasn't expecting it to be delivered that quickly. The LT849 mount is obviously designed with incredible quality and attention to detail. Also received a phone call from someone at the LaRue offices questioning why my order was being delivered to a different address from the credit card's billing address. She explained that different delivery addresses are a red flag for credit card fraud and just wanted to call and make sure I wasn't being taken advantage of. I was blown away at LaRue's commitment to protecting their customers. To top off my experience, I received a ton of great LaRue swag added to my delivery. I wasn't expecting any of this, but LaRue far and away exceeded my expectations and they have earned another life long customer. Thank you LaRue for being a reputable Texas based company. Keep up the great work and keep slingin them top quality Texas made products! Sam

I purchased the LaRue LT849 along with the MRO. I am very pleased with both. This is my 3rd LaRue mount and 2nd optic I've purchased from these folks. I took my Recce carbine with the MRO out to the range this weekend and within a 1/2 dozen rounds I was sighted in. Again, I am very pleased with this optic, especially when you consider the price for the combo. I have Eotech's, Aimpoints and I think I've found my new favorite "battle" red dot.

I could not be more pleased with my recent order of the Trijicon MRO QD Mount combo. Not only are you getting the Trijicon MRO at a competitive price, but it is coming with a QD mount from LaRue. It is by no accident that the MRO is showcased in Trijicon's literature mounted on a LaRue mount. While this review is probably supposed to focus on just this one mount, I would rather comment on the build quality that I have received over the years from LaRue. I have been using LaRue mounts since at least 2005, maybe before. I have always received the highest quality and performance out of their products. The precision that is used to create each piece that comes out of their shop is second to none. I really can't say enough about their products. In addition to your order, they have established a long history of sending some swag to show their appreciation for their customers, which I think is just a nice touch. Once you get a LaRue mount and place it on a weapon, you will see the difference.

I can't say enough nice things about this bundle. The quality of the LaRue mount is, as you'd expect, completely outstanding. The MRO itself has replaced the Aimpoint H1 on my go-to rifle. The larger field of view and the, in my mind, cleaner controls make it a superior optic...and that's even before the price difference. I currently have two of these and two H1's; I'm seriously considering ditching the Aimpoints for more MRO's and taking the wife to dinner with the difference.

I own both a PRO and an MRO and I will probably sell the PRO due to size and weight. This is great little red dot and I expect it to hold up to Trijicon's reputation. I also immediately ordered the Tenebraex flip up cover....not sure why it doesn't come with one.

I have other Larue mounts and this one did not disappoint! Looking forward to trying out the Dillow Dust on my next smoke.

Have at least 5 LaRue qd optic mounts. Scope mounts, aimpoint mounts, and now this MRO mount. All of them have been exceptional. I would never hesitate to buy something from LaRue. They have the best stuff at the absolute best prices. Look around, you won't find a better deal out there. As for the Trijicon MRO it is an exceptional optic. I have ran Aimpoint Micros for several years and really liked them but the MRO in my opinion is a all around better optic. Starting with the price point (over $100 dollars cheaper), it is NV compatible, and a wider field of view. I also really like the brightness adjustment knobs better. Being more ambi as well as having multiple off sections is really a big plus to me. It's nice to be able to turn it on and have it be bright enough in a couple clicks instead of having to go about 10 clicks. Not that either optic needs turned off with a 5 year battery life but it is still nice upgrade to the micro. This is a great optic and mount combo. As with all things I have purchased from LaRue I am very very happy.

After 3 EoTechs, I decided that Trijicon MRO was the choice to go to. It has a bigger objective lens than the Aimpoint and priced much better. I just completed a 1500rd carbine course where I put the MRO through the paces (and my SCAR), it performed flawlessly and held its zero. The LaRue mount performed just as equally. This optic and mount comb is hard to beat. I'm glad I went with LaRue.

It was a very tough choice for me to choose between the Aimpoint micro and the Trijicon mro. I chose the mro because of the excellent price and am not disappointed. The crisp dot is much better than the former eotech which i am used to. As far as shooting goes. At first we sighted the iron sights at 50 yards and then quickly put on the optic and adjusted it with the aid of the iron sights and then shot a 5 rd group at 50 yards. This 5 round group was within 3/4 in. After that my wife wanted to shoot it. She put 3 in the clip and put 2 shots touching the other 5, with one that strayed. Next i tried shooting it at 200 hundred yards and was able to hit the target with ease. i know the sight is not made for distance shooting but i am very eager to push the limits of this sight to 400 yards and see what it is capable of. will definitely buy another one when we have the money.

MRO is a reliable sight with a large field of view. Slight magnification. The sight is higher on the rifle which contributes to a lower 1/3 with the mount. Once again, the Larue mount is the best in the business. I've used them on all my "business" rifles.

Superb. Takes both eyes open to a new level. Crisp and clear optics and the LT 839 mount is as solid as they come. First high end red dot for me so the experience has been incredible. I switched from a quality 1x4 and immediately have increased significantly my sight acquisition speed. After several hundred rounds the return to zero has worked perfect and the optic itself has performed flawlessly. The Trijicon MRO was definitely the correct choice for me.

Well La Rue was great on delivery in less than three weeks after it was back ordered. The LT849 was just as expected. And gives a nice clean apearence. The MRO was very nice also. It was an easy task to install batery and run through the settings. The dot is super bright on high. The mounting was simple and it was easy with the holes in base. After installing on my gun. a DD m4 v7 lw. It looked great and a nice field of view. Ive been running the DD irons and the gun was already sighted in. The sight was great and the lower 1/3 was a good decision. Since I will probably replace sights with troy fold downs. When trying to move the dot to the left to line up just above the front sight it ran out of adjustment after only a few clicks. After running it too the right almost to the edge i brought it back to almost center when it was out again. I contacted La Rue, they said to send it back to Trijicon. Trijicon After asking twice, never did send a call tag. The UPS store would not ship it. Because it was a GUN PART. Geez! Tried another the next day and called it an optical instrument. They took it. LOL Been gone a week now we will see if Trijicon ponys up the shipping since it was never used and defective. Hope fully I can tell you a range review someday. Two stars for the MRO since the serial number showed it was made in february 2016.

OK, living in Minnesota we have extreme temperature changes 100 to -20 every year. As such, the problems with EOTechs led our Commander to disallow their use. After trying the T1 micro, ACOGs, and the RMR, the MRO won out. Field of view and use is great. Add in the Larue mount and I could not ask for more. I will say that the adjustments seem to be pretty easy to move however I have not had an issue. Anyway, hope that helps.

Cutting to the chase, the only negative is the sight and mount were backordered 2 weeks ... tells you how popular the MRO has become. Using the MRO with my Sig MCX rifle in 300 Blackout (16" barrel). Onto the review, installation of the cantilevered mount onto the MRO was a breeze. The included vial of Loctite was a nice touch. Was able to mount the sight to my top rail with no issues ... switched a couple different mounting locations and it's no problem quickly switching with the QD lever. Very solid. The MRO itself exceeds my expectations. The dot is very crisp on setting '3' and quite bright on '4.' Settings '5' and '6' would be OK outside in the sun, but overwhelming indoors. Love the top mounted brightness switching. Shooting with the MRO is as-expected: point and shoot. Easy to zero. Both eyes open and the sight/mount disappear with the little red dot superimposed on the target. So simple, it's almost embarrassing but then you see a tiny grouping of holes in paper. Five stars.

Excellent optic and mount combo for the money. I have both the Aimpoint T2 and now, the MRO. Unless you plan on using a magnifier, the MRO is the better value and it is made in the USA. The dot on the Aimpoint T2 is very crisp when using a 3X magnifier while the MRO does have some distortion. Absent the magnifier, the T2 and MRO are about equal. The MRO is definitely brighter on sunny days. If you are in the market for a quality optic and mount, look no further, Larue all the way!

The service from LaRue was outstanding; I will definitely buy from them again. The mount (LT849) is absolutely perfect, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. All of the extra goodies were a nice touch. I am not completely happy with the Trijicon MRO though. My biggest issue with it is the amount of red glare I see in it. I read the reviews online before buying, and I expected to see that to some degree. However, it is way more overt than I expected. I also emailed Trijicon about it, and go no response from them. I have to say I am disappointed with Trijicon in that regard. Their FAQ says red glare is normal in red dot optics, but I've had Aimpoint and Eotech's before, and haven't seen anything like this. The blue tint you read about, IMO, isn't bad and almost completely disappears outside. I don't notice the .05 magnification either. It's almost a great optic. Sum it up. LaRue = A+. Trijicon = C-.

The LT-849 Forward Cant is absolutely superb on my Sig MCX. The sight picture with BUIS is phenomenal. It clears my Steiner DBAL-A3 which is in front of the MRO, and gives me perfect view on the orientation of selector knob on laser/illuminator. Lightweight, sturdy, and looks great. I'm in Texas and hate paying taxes, but for this unit, it was well worth it. UPS shipping was next day. First time buyer here, but Im hooked. The LT849 Larue mount is awesome, as expected. Great build quality, extremely durable. The MRO has fantastic FOV. The only reason I am giving it 4 out of 5 is the quality of the dot - I have a T2 and several EoTech and although the glass is crystal clear, the dot has some "fuzz" around the edges. Overall, its fine but not quite at the level of the T2. Also, I think the large surface area of the optic is begging for a flip up cover, like the T2...worried about scratches and overall damage in field. Still, for the price, its pretty awesome.
