LaRue Battle Knife - IMPERVIVS
The LaRue Battle Knife® is back, some may even say that it is back in black. Originally released to the public in 2004, initial production was halted for LaRue Tactical® to fully-concentrate on the urgent demands of the developing Global War On Terror. With only a few in public hands, the LaRue Battle Knife® soon became one of the most sought-after and desirable production knives made. After bringing this product back and releasing two waves of pre-orders, we know that there are plenty of customers like you interested in another release. This time with an attractive and durable black finish that not only adds to the already phenomenal aesthetic, but will protect your knife for years to come.
General Overview
Being a true battle knife, attention has been spent on several useful details.
The beautifully-contoured forward finger groove blends perfectly into the
quillon (bottom part of the guard) for ultimate control when using a traditional (blade forward, edge down) saber grip. This groove is equally comfortable and balanced using a reverse-blade forward grip (tip down, edge forward). Allowing users to punch, slice and stab, while protecting the wrist from exposure. While designed for combat, this knife is equally at home at a backcountry hunt.
Features
The one-piece blade and tang are precision-machined from high-performance steel. The 6.25" blade has a 5.5" edge that is precision-ground to remain razor-sharp through all manners of punishing use. A 0.625" wide choil prevents the user's fingers from accidentally resting on the blade's edge, especially useful when placing a finger forward of the quillon to remove the blade from stubborn objects (like a skull). Jimping along the spine offer the user greater thumb control and indexing when in use. The
‘skull-crusher’ pommel features two lanyard holes for leather or 550 cord. The 4-inch-long composite phenolic scales are perfectly contoured to the tang
and attached with two stainless steel pins, perfectly flush with the scales. The scales offer a positive grip, even when hands are wet.
Sheath
The Hardened Silo™ Sheath is overbuilt in an effort to keep the blade
battle-ready as you parachute or dive into the workplace. Nothing stops a good
fight faster than your own knife plunging into your thigh. The Hardened Silo™ is a combination of Delrin, steel, and leather by Crow Saddlery, brought together with stainless steel screws. Leather inserts protect the finish of the sheathed knife, as well as keep the sheathed knife quiet and free from rattle. Drain holes in the tip of the Delrin sleeve allow moisture a place to go. The sheath can be disassembled and serviced for more thorough maintenance. Lanyard holes at the end allow users to thread leather or cord through for attachment to leg or gear. The sheath assembly quickly secures to your gear with a Blade Tech Tek-Lok belt adapter.
Accessories
The LaRue Battle Knife® ships complete with a Hardened Silo™ sheath, a
silicone-infused cloth, and a 14” x 4” padded, zippered case in a presentation
box.
